Analysis and solution of automatic lathe failure

During the use of the automatic lathe, it is often encountered that the slider does not slide smoothly, and the fault cannot be retracted to the original position when the knife is retracted, which may result in a series of malfunctions, resulting in scrap of the workpiece. The common sliders are not smooth and have the following factors:


1. The horizontal slider of the No. 1 knife does not retreat.

Cause one: The tool holder adjusts the center screw too tightly, causing slight deformation of the lateral slider.

Solution: Slightly loosen the centering screw. After the slider can slide freely, tighten it slightly. Use a moderate force when locking. The slider is slightly deformed to remove the slider and finish it with a surface grinder.

Cause two: The debris in the upper and lower sliders is stuck.

Solution: The horizontal slider can be cleaned with a machine cleaner. Or use W0-60 million cleaning anti-rust oil to clean and then install the slider.

Reason three: The two proportional rocker arms on the tailstock are too dead.

Solution: Loosen the fixing screws on the fixed rocker arm fixed shaft, lift the fixed shaft slightly, and then tighten the fixing screws. The clearance between the proportional rocker arm and the tailstock fixed surface shall not be less than 0.05.


2. The second, third and fourth knife sliders slide up and down.

Cause one: The tool holder fixing screw is too long, and the screw head is topped to the lower sliding seat after locking.

Solution: Wear the fixing screws a little. Grasp the tightness. Let the slider slide freely but it doesn't feel loose!

Cause two: The chip powder catches the slider.

Solution: Clean the card slider.


3. The vertical slider of the fifth knife is not returned.

Cause one: The horizontal tie rod is stuck.

Solution: Clean the transverse tie rod bearing or the fixing screw.

Cause two: The horizontal slider is stuck or slipping.

Solution: Clean the lateral slider.

Cause three: There is a workpiece stuck on the edge of the slider.

Solution: Remove the jammed workpiece.


4. The horizontal slider does not retreat.

Cause one: The horizontal tie rod is stuck.

Solution: Clean the transverse tie rod bearing or the fixing screw.

Cause two: The centering screw is too tight.

Solution: Slightly loosen the centering screw. After the slider can slide freely, tighten it slightly. Use a moderate force when locking.

Cause three: The slider and the slide have stuck debris.

Solution: Clean the lateral slider.

Cause four: The drive slider spring is too loose.

Solution: Tighten the drive sliders.


In the process of processing, various problems will occur. There are still many reasons for the slippery sliding of each group of sliders. It is necessary to analyze the specific problems and find out the cause of the slipping, and correct the symptoms in order to eliminate the faults in time. Like the five-knife slider, you can adjust the cam to ensure the sliding of the vertical and horizontal sliders. That is, when the vertical slider retreats, the horizontal slider must move synchronously, that is, the five-knife cam and the plate cam are in the slider. When you step back, adjust it properly.
